Frequently Asked Questions
How do I attend class?
To attend a class, check out our schedule and sign up on our Gymdesk profile. You can either sign up as a member or a visitor. Then, all you have to do is show up ready to learn! Our friendly staff will guide you through the registration process and help you get started on your Jiu-Jitsu journey.
What gear do I need?
For your safety and comfort, we recommend wearing a gi (uniform) specifically designed for Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu practice. Additionally, a mouthguard, rashguard (optional), and grappling shorts are advisable. If you're just starting out, don't worry – you are welcome to attend in a t-shirt, properly fitting athletic shorts, board shorts, athletic pants or sweatpants.
What is mat etiquette?
Mat etiquette is the foundation of respect and discipline in our academy. We ask all our students to arrive on time, keep their uniforms clean, and maintain proper personal hygiene. During class, listen attentively to your instructor, treat your training partners with respect, and always practice good sportsmanship. Remember, the mat is a place of learning and camaraderie, so let's uphold the values of mutual respect and support.
What are the membership options?
We offer month-to-month, 6 month, to one year contracts (paid monthly or in full). If you need help choosing the right membership, our staff will help you choose the right contract for your routine.
Can I try a class before joining?
Absolutely! We encourage all prospective students to experience a class firsthand before making a commitment. You'll have the opportunity to participate in a session, meet our instructors, and get a feel for our academy's atmosphere and teaching style. To try a class, head to our Gymdesk account and select the visitor option. Afterward, if you decide to join, we'll be happy to discuss our membership options with you.
